Frequently asked questions

Quick answers to the things developers ask most often about CodePreview.live.

Yes, completely free. No account, no subscription, no paywall. You open the page and start coding. There are no hidden limits on the number of previews you can run.

No account is needed. Just visit the site and start writing or pasting code immediately. Your code stays in your browser and is not sent to any server.

You can upload .html, .htm, .css, .js, and .txt files. Multiple files can be selected at once — CSS and JS are automatically injected into the HTML document before the preview renders.

The preview opens in a new browser tab. If nothing happens, your browser is likely blocking popups from this site. Look for the popup-blocked icon in your address bar and allow popups for CodePreview.live, then click Run Preview again.

No. Your code exists only in your browser while the page is open. Nothing is transmitted to a server, logged, or persisted. Refreshing the page clears the editor.

Yes. Include any CDN links directly in your HTML code using standard <script> and <link> tags and they will load normally in the preview tab, as long as you have an internet connection.

The editor and interface are fully responsive and work on mobile browsers. Typing large amounts of code on mobile is less comfortable than on a keyboard, but quick pastes and file uploads work well on phones and tablets.

CodePreview.live was built by Zdev — a solo developer focused on creating clean, fast, no-friction tools for the developer community.

About
The tool

Built for developers who move fast

CodePreview.live started from a simple frustration: previewing a snippet of HTML should not require opening an IDE, creating a file, and starting a server.

Zero setup. Instant results.

CodePreview.live is a browser-based HTML, CSS, and JavaScript preview tool designed to eliminate the friction between writing code and seeing it run. Paste a snippet, upload a file, click Run — that is the entire workflow.

The tool handles full HTML documents and bare code fragments equally well, wrapping snippets in a complete document automatically so the output always renders correctly. CSS and JavaScript files uploaded alongside HTML are injected in the right places without any manual wiring.

Everything runs in your browser. No sign-in, no telemetry, no upload to a remote server. The code you write stays on your machine until the moment you choose to run it — at which point the browser opens it directly, the same way it would open any local HTML file.

Every interaction is optimized to be as immediate as possible. No loading screens, no modals, no onboarding flows.

Privacy by default

Your code never leaves your machine. No analytics on what you write, no server logs of your work.

Designed for focus

No ads, no popups, no upsells. Just the editor and a Run button. The interface gets out of the way so you can think about code.
